Location & Appearance:
Nestled deep within the abandoned industrial district, the Vvaywards’ base is located on what appears to be an empty lot at 54th and Smithinson, at least, that’s what the rest of the world sees. The lot itself has become an urban legend, with conspiracy theorists speculating about portals, time paradoxes, and interdimensional rifts. In reality, it is a fully functional stronghold, hidden by Captain’s hypnotic abilities and the residual effects of a catastrophic energy experiment.
Only those within the Vvaywards, or those who have been granted access, can perceive the true structure that exists there. To everyone else, it’s just an abandoned, overgrown plot of land.
The Effects of Hypersonic’s Experiment:
The failed energy experiment that created Hypersonic left behind permanent electromagnetic distortions in a three-block radius. These effects make the lot even more impossible to find:
Electronic devices fail within the perimeter. No cell signal, no Wi-Fi, no GPS tracking, no satellite images. This makes it a true dead zone, cutting it off from modern surveillance.
A perpetual disruption field exists. Even if someone physically enters the area, cameras and tracking devices malfunction, making it impossible to document or expose.
Hypersonic’s residual energy still lingers. Strange electromagnetic pulses occasionally sweep through the lot, causing lights to flicker and mechanical failures in any tech brought inside.
Captain’s Role – The Mental Illusionist:
Captain’s hypnotic abilities ensure that even those who wander close see only an empty lot. This effect is subconscious and automatic, meaning people don’t even realize they are being manipulated.
The only exception to this rule is anyone who physically sees the Vvaywards’ wagon. But spotting it is nearly impossible, given the group’s expertise in evasion.
The illusion is so strong that even drones and advanced tech systems bypass the area as if it doesn’t exist.
Urban Legends & Public Speculation:
With an entire section of the city seemingly erased, theories about the lot have run wild:
“It’s a government black site.” Many believe the lot is hiding some secret experiment or cover-up.
“It’s a time paradox.” The idea that people who enter might never return has sparked urban legends about time loops or alternate realities.
“It’s a portal.” Some speculate that it leads to another dimension, feeding into ghost stories and conspiracy theories.
“It’s cursed.” Locals tell stories of people who wandered too close and forgot why they were there, or felt an overwhelming urge to leave.
Why the Lot is Critical to the Vvaywards:
This location is more than just a hideout—it’s the only true safe space they have in a city that wants them dead or experimented on.
Beyond the law & the city’s control: No police, no government surveillance, no corporate tracking. The Vvaywards can plan, regroup, and train without fear of discovery.
A ghost in the system: Even if someone suspects their existence, they have no way to prove the lot is real. It exists outside recorded reality.
Captain’s strongest defense: As long as Captain stands, the illusion remains. Even if an enemy knows about the Vvaywards, they won’t be able to find them without being led there.
Finding the Vvaywards – Nearly Impossible
The only way to locate the Vvaywards is to physically spot their wagon as they enter or exit the lot. But given their skills—and Captain’s abilities—this is an extreme challenge.
Even if someone manages to enter the dead zone, they would face:
Total electronic failure—no way to call for backup or track themselves.
A growing sense of paranoia—Captain’s abilities could make them question reality.
The Vvaywards themselves—if someone is inside, they’re already being watched.
Final Thoughts:
The hidden lot at 54th and Smithinson is more than just a hideout, it’s a legend, a fortress, and a ghost. It exists outside of modern reality, untouched by satellites, cameras, or technology.
With Captain’s hypnosis masking it and the energy experiment’s effects permanently warping electronics, it remains the perfect refuge for a group of outcasts fighting against the corruption of the city.

The Hidden Lot – The VVaywards’ Stronghold
The hidden lot at 54th and Smithinson is more than just an illusion, it’s the true home and sanctuary of the VVaywards. While the outside world sees an empty, abandoned lot, inside stands a massive industrial complex that serves as both their base of operations and a haven for those in need.

The Industrial Building – The Warehouse
A massive warehouse-like structure dominates the lot, serving as the heart of the VVaywards’ operations. While it appears run-down and forgotten from the outside, inside, it is fully equipped for their missions, survival, and training.
Inside the Warehouse:
Bunkrooms for Rescued Children – Rows of bunk beds provide shelter for children saved from corrupt systems, experimentation, or the streets. The VVaywards see themselves as protectors for the innocent.
Vehicle Workshop – A fully equipped shop for repairing and modifying cars, motorcycles, and even experimental tech.
Library – Shelves stacked with books, maps, and journals filled with knowledge lost to the world or hidden from the public.
Music Room – A place of peace and expression, filled with instruments where VVaywards can unwind, create, or just be human.
Game Room – A mix of old arcade machines, board games, and a pool table, giving the team a place to relax.
Weapons Inventory – A locked, heavily secured armory containing an array of firearms, melee weapons, explosives, and custom gear.
Boxing Room & Gym – A full training area where fighters like Knokout and Will spar, train, and push themselves to be ready for war.
Will’s Shack – The Rooftop Wasteland
On the roof of the warehouse, in a corner forgotten by most, sits Will’s personal hideout, a shack that looks more like the remains of a collapsed shed than a livable space.

Inside Will’s Shack:
Beer cans and cigarette butts litter the floor, piled up in corners, covering old newspapers and broken bottles.
15 separate TVs, each hooked up to 15 different VHS players, constantly playing different movies, old news reports, and static-filled tapes.
A busted-up couch with exposed springs, held together by duct tape and worn-down fabric.
Stacks of VHS tapes—some classic, some mysterious, and some containing recorded footage of things no one should have seen.
A view of the city skyline—a reminder that even though Will has a place here, he never fully belongs.
Will’s shack is his sanctuary from the rest of the VVaywards. It’s where he drinks, smokes, and watches the world burn through the lens of his old TV screens. No one else really sleeps up here—except, on occasion, Whisper.
The VVaywards’ Main House – Their True Home
Separate from the industrial warehouse, the main house is where the VVaywards truly live when they aren’t fighting, training, or on a mission.
Inside the Main House:
Tons of Bedrooms – Every member of the VVaywards has their own personalized space, each reflecting their personality, past, and habits.
A Massive Kitchen – Big enough to cook for everyone at once, often filled with the smell of food as someone is always cooking.
An Entertainment Room – Stocked with couches, old TVs, consoles, movies, and a beat-up jukebox that somehow still works.
Tons of Bathrooms – Because no one wants to fight over showers.
A Science Room – Where Doc does her work, experimenting, researching, and creating medical solutions and enhancements for the team.
Why This Place Matters
The hidden lot isn’t just a base of operations—it’s a sanctuary, a hideout, and a family home for those who don’t belong anywhere else.
The Warehouse is where they train, fight, and prepare for war.
The Main House is where they laugh, live, and try to hold onto what’s left of their humanity.
Will’s Shack is where one broken man watches the world from above, lost in the static of his past.
This is the VVaywards’ home, and they’ll fight to the last breath to protect it.
